What happens to my original NFTs?+
Your original NFTs stay on Abstract. The planned rescue creates a new collection on your chosen chain, preserving original token IDs and distributing one rescued NFT for each token in the holder snapshot. It does not delete or transfer the originals.
Who can start a rescue?+
Founders can rescue their collections. A holder can also start a Community Rescue when a founder has abandoned a project. Join the waitlist as a Founder or Holder to register your interest.
How is founder status verified?+
In the upcoming rescue flow, the connected wallet must be the original contract deployer, the address returned by owner(), or the OpenSea collection owner. Otherwise the rescue is identified as a Community Rescue in the contract and collection name or description.
What is a remap window?+
It is a period chosen by the rescue organizer during which holders prove control of their Abstract wallet by signing a message and register a destination address. After it closes, distribution uses the registered address, or the original address if no remap was registered.
What if I use an AGW or embedded wallet?+
You may need a different address on the destination chain. The planned remap window lets you register one while you still have access to your Abstract wallet. It requires proof of control, so register before losing access. Wallet recovery is not part of this service.
Which destination chain should we choose?+
The planned choices are Robinhood Chain, Base, and Ethereum. Choose with your community, considering wallet support, marketplace access, and current deployment and distribution costs. A gas estimate will be shown before you pay.
Who controls the new contract and royalties?+
The verified founder, or the holder organizing a Community Rescue, will own the new contract and receive its ERC-2981 royalties. Royalty settings will be visible before deployment. Marketplace royalty enforcement can vary.
Is the rescue contract audited?+
The save-nfts rescue contract has not been built or audited yet. This release supports collection scanning and previews. The planned bridge builds on RatBastards’ LayerZero V2 design, but that is not an audit of this service. Contract code, tests, and security information will be available before launch.
How much does a rescue cost?+
The planned checkout total is 0.1 ETH base package + required storage tier price + estimated gas. Basic IPFS storage is priced by collection size. Fully onchain art depends on NFT count, media type, real file sizes, and destination chain. Deployment, airdrop, and any onchain storage gas are paid from your own wallet. An itemized estimate will be shown after the scan, before you pay. Joining the waitlist is free.
IPFS or fully onchain, which should I choose?+
Basic IPFS storage is the default: it pins your media and metadata on IPFS, priced by collection size. Choose Fully onchain art if you want the art itself stored on the destination chain, living as long as that chain does and traveling with the bridgeable contract. Both storage tiers are paid additions to the 0.1 ETH base package. The planned scan will show an exact estimate before you pay.
Why can onchain video be expensive?+
Onchain storage gas is driven by the actual bytes stored. Video files can be large, making fully onchain video very expensive, especially on Ethereum. The planned flow will offer an optional per-file size cap or compression step, with a size and cost preview before payment.
Does bridgeable mean my NFTs can never be lost?+
Bridgeability is designed to prevent dependence on a single chain. A future move requires supported routes, working infrastructure, transaction fees, and action before a chain becomes unavailable. It does not guarantee permanent availability or remove smart contract and bridge risks.
